Re: Sig P232
Make sure that the dealer provides ammo if you buy this weapon. 380 has been difficult to obtain. It will drive you nuts not to be able to range test your new piece. I am not a fan of 380s in general - but I have shot this model and was quite impressed. Well made (SIG quality is tops) points and handles very well.
The night site option is neat - but I would not spend the extra FRNs. ST |
Re: Sig P232
You can get a Ruger LCP for half this and it's half the size.
The LCP literally disappears in your pocket, trust me. |

Re: Sig P232
I don't really like .380 but to each his own.
Take a look at the P239. It's small enough to conceal, holds 7 rounds. Comes in 3 different calibers. 9mm, .357SIG or .40S&W |
Re: Sig P232
Everyones concealed carry situation is different.
I have a Sig P232 but carry a Ruger LCP, 6+1, in a pocket holster that is almost always on me, because it is light and easy to conceal. The point of CCW is concealability, if it's not on you because you can't conceal it or it's too uncomfortable you won't carry it, you will leave it behind. So, it's only the humble little .380 ACP, I have a 1911 .45 ACP that I won't carry either. A handgun that you won't carry is useless to you except for fun at the range or home defense. My opinion of the P232 is very high as a handgun goes and with the right carry method would be okay, but with that size gun, you could be carrying a 9mm just as easy. |
Re: Sig P232
I have a Sig P230 Stainless that was my dad's BUG a while ago. I bought it off of him a year or so ago. It's a cool little gun and is in prestine condition. I will post some pics of it tomorrow or something. I rarely shoot it because ammo is so hard to find.

Re: Sig P232
I have had two Sig 232s. They are fine shooters with a perfect sight picture. They have some size to them but not as much as a full size pistol. Two things, they have a European style magazine release (mag release lever is on the bottom of the grip next to the base of the magazine) and they do not have a floating barrel that can be removed with the slide, they are more like a Walther PPK/S or a small CZ. Recoil is minor, less than a Ruger LCP which I own and is similar to holding a firecracker with minimal sight picture.
You can get some Hornady self defence ammo or Cor-Bon and get a very accurate shot because of the excellent sight picture. The grip is larger than the new Sig 238. Every time I go to a gun store or sporting goods I look for 380 ammo and buy it if I need it or not. But, 380 is still hard to get. |

I have one of these. I am not sure if I can add anything more to this discussion. It's a well-crafted piece. Ammo is pretty tough to find, but I've found it, and so can you. |
